Earn Graduate Credit

One Credit Option:

• Tuition: $75

• Learn: Attend a minimum of 15 hours of professional development at the 2024 Central States Conference. Participants will track their attendance using the Central States Conference Session Attendance Form. 

• Summarize: List 3 – 5 key points for each credit-bearing event that you attended and, for each event, explain why each key point supports standards- and proficiency-based teaching of world languages and cultures

Three Credit Option:

• Tuition: $220

• Learn: Attend a minimum of 15 hours of professional development at the 2024 Central States Conference. Participants will track their attendance using the Central States Conference Session Attendance Form. 

• Apply: Prepare five (5) classroom activities that incorporate what you learned OR review five (5) classroom activities or lessons of teachers you supervise or work with

• Reflect: In 4-5 double-spaced pages, explain how and where what you learned was incorporated into the lessons you designed and why those ideas supported standards- and proficiency-based learning opportunities for your students.

• The Central States Conference on the Teaching of Foreign Languages is a regional, non-profit association which has offered exceptional professional development opportunities to teachers in our 14-state region and beyond for 56 years.  Founded in 1967, Central States is known as The Friendly Conference and has promoted the teaching and learning of world languages across the Pre-K — post-graduate spectrum by offering an annual multi-day convention, a range of webinars, and an annual scholarly volume.

• SUU is fully accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU), a regional accrediting body recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). SUU offers associates, bachelor’s, master's, and doctoral degrees in a range of content areas.

• World Language PD is an online provider of professional development, graduate credit, a graduate certificate, and a master's degree for World Language teachers that allows CSCTFL conference attendees to receive graduate level credit without being accepted to an official degree program. Step 1: Select the “Register Now” button under the Conference tab above and click the “Register Now” button there. Only registered conference attendees may enroll in these graduate courses.

Step 2: Registration is now open and will remain open until March 23, 2024 (one week following the conclusion of the 2024 Central States Conference).   To register:

• Go to World Language PD: www.WorldLanguagePD.com/CSCTFL,

• Complete the enrollment form for either the 1-credit or the 3-credit course, and

• Complete your payment.

Once you have completed these steps, you will receive an e-mail confirmation from World Language PD.  This email message will include: 

• access information to the online course shell where you will upload your course work and 

• information about how to create an account and order your SUU transcript.
