Patrick T. Raven Conference Attendance Grants

Central States Conference Attendance Grants

The Patrick T. Raven Scholarship provides financial support to Central States conference attendees, particularly to first-time attendees who have five or fewer years of teaching experience.

This fund was established in 2018 to mark the 50th anniversary of the Central States Conference on the Teaching of Foreign Languages, which was founded in 1968. Originally named the 50th Anniversary Fund, in 2021 the Central States Board of Directors voted to rename the fund to honor Patrick Raven, who served as our Executive Director for 15 years. His dedication to professional development throughout his life has been instrumental in moving our profession forward.
