Central States Conference
Teacher of the Year

Linda Egnatz

Linda Egnatz is an outstanding Spanish teacher at Lincoln-Way North High School in Frankfort, Illinois.
Linda contributes at all levels of the teaching profession, but her greatest love and efforts go into
her classroom teaching.  Linda encourages her students to improve their oral proficiency, connects
her classroom to the world of work, and shares the world of Spanish speakers with her students on trips
to Spain, Mexico and Ecuador.  For all of these contributions toward making her students the best
they could be, she was named the Teacher of the Year at Lincoln-Way North High School in 2011.  In that same year the Illinois Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages recognized all of Linda’s contributions to the structure, stability and image of ICTFL by presenting her its highest award, the President’s Award. She is a Nationally Board Certified Teacher and serves as founding sponsor of her school’s chapter of the Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica. Through Linda’s hard work ICTFL has become more relevant and more accessible to foreign language teachers across Illinois.  In 2013 she was nominated on behalf of the Illinois Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages, as their Teacher of the Year for the Central States Conference on the Teaching of Foreign Languages. Linda Egnatz is very creative, efficient and Multi-talented.  Add to that diligent, well-spoken and professional and you have the qualities that describe the Teacher of the Year.  Linda will represent the Central States Conference on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (CSCTFL) at the ACTFL Conference in Orlando, Florida on November 22-24, 2013. Congratulations Linda!
